Many people ask this question and wonder why God allows such awful things to happen. Some even blame God for their troubles and want to know why if God is in control of the universe, then why does He allow pain and heartache? And the answer is this, because of that first sin in the Garden of Eden, we live in a sinful world, and until Jesus comes, there will be pain and suffering. There's a battle going on here on earth between good and evil, and yes, God is our Almighty Creator in control of this earth, but He has given each of us the gift of choice, and when we make wrong choices, we reap the consequences. God is not a dictator, He's not going to make us do the right thing or prevent us from sinning. We must choose to serve God or Satan. The Bible tells us we cannot serve two masters. Jesus does not want us to serve Him because we're afraid of Him, He wants us to give our hearts to Him because we love Him. It's because of Jesus' death on the cross that our salvation is even possible. We would have no hope of eternal life, except that God made the ultimate sacrifice by giving His only son so that we might have eternal life with Him. He loves each of us that much. Won't you recommit your life to Jesus today? He is waiting for you with outstretched arms.
