There are times when you allow yourself to be a prisoner of your own thoughts. You tell yourself you are hopeless, untalented, ugly, dumb, unworthy of love, and countless other lies the devil wants you to believe. But please know this, there is great danger in allowing your mind to dwell on negative thoughts because if you think you can't do something, guess what? You won't be able to do it. If you tell yourself you're a failure, you will fail. Essentially, you will become a victim of your own thoughts. God doesn't want you to think impure or untrue thoughts, or worry about what you can or cannot do. He wants you to trust in Him and think about what He can do and what He will do through you. The Bible says in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things”. The only way to stop being a victim of your own thoughts is to pray for God to take over, transforming and renewing your mind with thoughts that will glorify Him. And you can claim this promise in Isaiah 26:3: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because He trusts in you”.

1 Peter 5:7-9 KJV - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Proverbs 4:23 KJV - Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.

Psalm 94:19 KJV - In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Ephesians 4:22-24 KJV - That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
