Running from life's difficulties doesn't make problems go away or make them better. It only prolongs the inevitable and usually makes it worse. Before you know it, the molehill soon becomes a mountain and harder to climb. When there is conflict between us and someone else, we should always look inward first. Sometimes we don't see the situation clearly because we are blinded by our own self-righteousness. So it is good for us to ask ourselves, did I act in a Christ-like way? Would God be proud of my behavior or the things I said? Is there something that is in my character that needs perfecting? Do others see Jesus in me? If we have wronged someone, we need to ask forgiveness. If someone has wronged us, we need to ask God to put forgiveness in our hearts, yes, even if that person hasn't asked us to forgive them. Remember that we never have to fight our battles alone, Jesus is right there beside us and he is the best advocate we could possibly have. He will give us the strength we need and there is no problem that He can't solve. So pray about everything and ask for divine guidance and direction. When we surrender our heartaches to Jesus and truly turn our problems over to Him, we will experience His joy and sweet peace. So the next time you get the urge to run, run to Jesus.
Colossians 3:15-17 KJV - And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Proverbs 4:23 KJV - Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.
Philippians 2:13 KJV - For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.
Ephesians 4:20-24 KJV - But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
