Sin is a deadly disease that has been passed on from generation to generation since the beginning of time. We're told in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Sin is defined as any thought, word or action that goes against God's laws or standards. Simply put, sin is rebellion against God. The good news is this, the Bible tells us in first John 1:9 that all we need to do is confess our sins and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our salvation came at an unimaginable price, for God loved us so much that He gave His only Son that we might live and have eternal life with Him. To accept God's amazing gift, we need to allow Him to change us fully and completely. It's not enough that we know who God is, we must know Him personally and intimately as our friend and Savior. When we do, God gives us the power to change and get rid of all the junk in our lives that is separating us from Him. Remember that God must accomplish something in us before He does anything for us or through us.
