When you turn on the news and hear that the stock market is crashing, and the world is in a financial crisis - it’s enough to raise your blood pressure just thinking about it. The stress factor is elevated even more when faced with the pile of bills stacking up on your desk and not enough funds in your bank account to cover them. Even though everyone depends on money for day to day living - it’s important to remember that God is your provider - and your security is based on your relationship with Him - not on how much money you have. The Bible says in Matthew 6:24, “You cannot serve both God and money.” In other words, you need to focus on Jesus - and not be driven by the love of money. Wealth in the things of this world will not bring lasting joy and peace! Whenever you’re tempted to break out in a cold sweat about your finances, claim God’s promise in Philippians 4:19, “ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” You can trust God to take care of you, for He always keeps His promises. Notice that He promised to provide your every “need,” not all your “wants.” There is a big difference! God knows our every need. Matthew 6:8 says, “For your Father knows the things you have need of, before you ask Him.” It’s important to work hard, and allow God to lead and guide in all aspects of your life - including your finances. Put your faith and trust in Jesus, for there is no safer place to be!
