Prayer and faith go hand in hand. Unless prayer is connected with faith, it accomplishes nothing. Before we even start to pray, our faith should be working. This is the first step for a more fulfilling prayer life. If our faith is weak, we need to ask God to make it stronger. Faith not only makes our prayers more effective, but also gives us patience to wait on God's perfect timing. Faith believes that God hears and answers. Serving God, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will yield blessings. One of the best stories of faith in the Bible is the sick woman in the midst of a crowd who touched the hem of Jesus garment, and instantly she was healed. Jesus told her, “Your faith has made you whole”. What a beautiful example of how God rewards faith. Jesus also said that if we had the faith, even as small as a grain of a mustard seed, that we could move a mountain. Now, there haven't been news flashes of people moving any mountains lately, so it's probably safe to say that everyone could use more faith. Pray each day. Lord, give me more faith.

Luke 17:5 KJV - And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

Ephesians 6:16 KJV - Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

1 Corinthians 2:5 KJV - That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

James 1:5-8 KJV - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.
