There are times we all experience some form of loneliness, such as feeling empty, unwanted, or unimportant. However, some confuse loneliness with being alone. But they are two very different things. Being alone is a choice that can be a positive experience, and in fact, many people crave alone time. Loneliness, on the other hand, is unwanted isolation that can be experienced even in a room full of people. Longing for love or craving companionship can lead to some very strong emotions, such as rejection, depression, insecurity, resentment, and hopelessness. That's why it's good for us to learn to cope with loneliness. And one way to fight this feeling is to reach out to others who might also be lonely. Spend less time thinking of self and more time helping others. And the best weapon of all against loneliness is our best friend, Jesus. Remember that we are never really alone because God is always with us, guiding, leading, and loving us each step of the way. We can always lean on the everlasting arms of Jesus. Now it just doesn't get better than that.
Text:
John 14:18 NLT
No, I will not abandon you as orphans- I will come to you.
Joshua 1:5 NLT
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.
Psalm 68:5-6 NLT
Father to the fatherless, defender of widows- this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorced land.
1 Samuel 12:22 NLT
The LORD will not abandon his people, because that would dishonor his great name. For it has pleased the LORD to make you his very own people.
