Prayer is a powerful tool that God has given us to not only help ourselves through this journey of life, but to help others as well. Unfortunately, Jesus' disciples missed out on that opportunity to pray for their master. But we should learn from this very important lesson in Gethsemane. The next time we see a brother in need, pray for them. Ask God for wisdom and discernment of how to be a help, not a hindrance. Watch and listen, and you will hear the silent cries from those who are depressed, fearful, insecure, or brokenhearted. Remember that Jesus is the only healer of hearts, He alone has the answers. But if we are willing to be led by the Holy Spirit, God will guide us to discern their need. People who are hurting need love, acceptance, and prayer that come from a humble heart, not someone who has a self-righteous attitude that is trying to fix them. So ask God to remove any spirit of pride and replace it with an extra abundance of love, His love for others.
Jeremiah 29:12 KJV - Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
Hebrews 4:16 KJV - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Romans 8:26 KJV - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
1 Peter 3:12 KJV - For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
